Letters to the editor can be a good thing, if what you are writing is accurate. The recent letters however, are not. The supporters of our current Supervisor are once again crying that things are not going their way. Councilwoman Gail Seaman is blamed for everything by our Supervisor and her supporters, even things the Supervisor did herself, she denies and blames Gail Seaman. This is all on the videos of the meetings, so yes, there is actual proof of this.
In today's letter, a former town board member is upset that once again a resolution to rescind a resolution from January was voted down. Let's look at this. In January resolutions were passed, this did not go over well with the Supervisor and her supporters. Supervisor Hyde has decided that she will put a resolution to rescind certain resolutions that she doesn't like in every month, until the three new board members get tired of hearing this and vote her way. Last month, one board member did vote yes on one, but no on the other two. This month, the resolutions are once again on the agenda. It looks like Supervisor Hyde is just going to brow beat the town board members with this, this sure seems like a bully tactic to me.
The letter in today's paper also stated how much each board member is paid for each meeting. Once again, this is not accurate, you see, Town Board member Gail Seaman has not been paid yet this year. Her information is all in the system, as she was a town board member not that long ago. Councilman Needham was paid using his information that was in the system, yet they refuse to pay Gail Seaman. It certainly looks like this is her "punishment" for not following the Supervisors self appointed rules.
Gail Seaman is being accused of making the meetings run long, when if fact, it is Supervisor Hyde that is doing this, by reading lengthy "reports". There is nothing in Supervisor Hydes so called reports but her whining saying how mean Gail Seaman is. There is nothing that she is reporting to the tax payers the pertains to the town and it's situation. She uses the meetings as her own personal stage.
Each month, Councilwoman Seaman tries to adhere to the resolutions that were set in place last year, yet Supervisor Hyde states they are not, yet she and the board of last year put them in place, so the only one that is not adhering to the rules is Supervisor Hyde. Do you see a pattern here yet folks?
It has become public knowledge that when Supervisor Hyde doesn't get her way, she bullies and brow beats people until they cave. Last year, she wouldn't think of doing a thing without the town board holding her hand, this year, since she no longer has her bobble head board there, she refuses to contact the town board and inform them on one thing. She has said publicly that they need to come in for any information, yet she then forbids Gail Seaman to enter her office and has even gone as far as locking her out. Mrs. Seaman has been told she has to go through the clerks office to get information. This folks, is illegal, yet she gets away with it. The Town clerk is far from helpful to Council Woman Seaman as well.
We have taken ten steps backwards people! We are back to the way it was a decade ago, to the good old back door politics. Cynthia Hyde won't give out information unless you are one of her supporters, then you can get anything you want. She could care less about the majority of the tax payers. Her supporters publicly humiliate anyone that speaks out against her or them. I am sure the Thurman Informer will be ridiculed for allowing this blog to be posted. There will be nasty letters to the editor, all in the name of justice. Well, this kind of justice does nothing but hurt our town and create a bigger divide.
Thank you Gail Seaman, Doug Needham and Brenda Ackely, for standing up for the people and trying to make our Supervisor adhere to the laws of the state and to the resolutions that are passed. You take a verbal beating every month, for this, this resident is sorry, but also thankful that we have you to try to take a stand for the people of Thurman. Please, for the majority of the tax payers that are relying on you, stay strong and please continue the fight for our town.
