It is difficult to know what is on the monthly agenda. Meeting packets are posted on line but often they’re different than those at the meetings. Only select letters to the board are read or attached to the minutes and minutes are not always accurate. That is not transparency.
By law, board meetings are open to the public so we can listen to the deliberations and decisions of our officials. During our meetings there is an undercurrent of discussion by our board that we cannot hear and one member deliberately turns his back to us so not to be heard. That is not transparency.
New York State’s Ethics and Financial Disclosure form is required to be signed by officials. This is to enable the public to check for potential conflict of interest that may involve corruption. Our current board has stated we can trust them and will not sign the Ethics Form.
We have hired accountants, paid for dumpsters that we could get for free, bought duplicate accounting soft-ware, paid a non-owed bill for Whitespace, hired a general contractor as an electrician, authorized purchase for a generator that isn’t needed and hired a construction firm for the water project. We have no way of knowing if conflict of interest is involved or not. That is not transparency.
Documentation can be found on line in the Thurman Informer.

Video Clip two: Tax payer asked if Mr. Eddy could turn around when speaking so the audience can hear him. He refuses.
Audio clip of video clip two: Enhance sound, you will hear Mr. Eddy state: "I'm not answering questions, I'm not talking to them".
Video Clip three: The board is asked why they did not
use the county bid for dumpsters at the landfill, as
they would not cost extra.
Video Clip four: Tom Suozzo from Cedarwood Engineering states that a house was hooked up to the water project because of salt. He did not talk about salt and chloride, which is stated in the official meeting minutes. (Side note* all homes hooked up to the water project were done so based on chloride levels, not one was done for sodium levels as stated here. The person hooked up was told in the past that they did not qualify for a hook up, but now all of a sudden they are. this person is a vocal supporter of this current administration.
§100. Legislative declaration.
It is essential to the maintenance of a democratic society that the public business be performed in an open and public manner and that the citizens of this state be fully aware of and able to observe the performance of public officials and attend and listen to the deliberations and decisions that go into the making of public policy. The people must be able to remain informed if they are to retain control over those who are their public servants. It is the only climate under which the commonweal will prosper and enable the governmental process to operate for the benefit of those who created it.
